Initially proposed during the K2 Client Workshop, the K2 Working Groups, made up of a variety of stakeholders, serve to inform the K2 team on local priorities under several thematic areas. Questions developed by these groups will be incorporated into the stand and landscape level modeling to account for the various forest values and to ensure K2 results are meaningful and relevant to those connected to the Kamloops TSA. Currently, the working groups themes are:
- Habitat & Biodiversity
- Timber Management / Economics
- Fire & Other Natural Disturbances
First Session: held at Thompson River University in Kamloops, BC on June 10, 2010
The goal of the first meeting of the working groups was to develop a prioritized list of questions for the forest models as they relate to the themes above. These questions are now posted, Key Questions by Model June 16-10.
If you would like to participate in one of these working groups please contact us.
