Adapting Forest Management Under Climate Change
These pages serve as a portal to promote an ongoing dialogue between the Kamloops clients (government agencies, forest licensees, communities, First Nations, and other stakeholders) and the K2 Research Team in a joint effort to understand how the changing climate will affect the forest ecosystems and management of the Kamloops Timber Supply Area (TSA) in British Columbia, Canada.
In the following pages you’ll be able to learn about how K2 has been working toward the objectives of the Kamloops Future Forest Strategy (KFFS: both K1 and K2), familiarize yourself with the K2 research approach, explore the climate and forest models employed, and even find a bit about the context of climate change and forest management in British Columbia.
The objective of these webpages is to keep you, the clients, informed of the activities, research challenges, and discoveries of the K2 Research Team as well as for the team to receive ongoing feedback and insight from you. The Kamloops Future Forest Strategy is a multidisciplinary, multistakeholder learning process, so we hope that you will regularly share your thoughts, suggestions, questions, and comments on these pages. This is your gateway to a common understanding of the future forest of the Kamloops TSA.
Thanks for your interest and participation in this piece of the climate change puzzle!
